Selecting a New Tucson Package Unit

Package units are unique in that they contain every component needed to heat and cool a business or office. There is no need for an indoor unit or a separate furnace because the package unit is a fully functional heat pump and, if needed, can contain a gas furnace back up. These are not often needed in Arizona, though, as temperatures rarely drop below 40 degrees.

To select a package unit, you need to first consider the sizing of the system. It must match the specific needs of your business, which means you need a heat load calculation performed to determine how much space the system will need to be able to cool. Additionally, you need to ensure that the energy efficiency of your new package unit matches the specific needs outlined by your budget. If you cannot afford to spend more than a certain amount of money per month on heating or cooling, it may be worthwhile to spend more money and install a unit that will match your particular needs.

Once you have chosen a package unit and it has been installed, the process of having it maintained becomes a necessity. We recommend having one of our professional service technicians visit your office annually to tune up your package unit. If you use it for both heating and cooling, it is recommended that you do this twice a year, once in the fall and once in the early spring.
